As for the most important countries in the world importing food industries during the first two months of 2024, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first with a value of exports of $91 million with a growth rate of 6%, followed by Libya with a value of $58 million and a growth rate of 25%, Palestine with a value of $57 million and a growth rate of 6%. The Council also prepared a detailed study at the end of 2020, which was announced in March 2021. It included a study of the sector’s capabilities and capabilities, identifying export sectors in which there are opportunities to develop exports, and determining targeted growth rates according to the sector’s capabilities and the size of demand in the global market, in addition to challenging the target markets, which the Council works closely on. The Council also developed a new system for trade missions based on studying the target markets and sending preparatory missions to those markets to study them closely and arranging logistical and technical procedures that guarantee the success of the trade missions with the participation of Egyptian companies in cooperation with the Commercial Representation Authority and business groups in those countries. The Council’s efforts succeeded in sending… 17 missions, between preparatory and final missions, to countries (Kenya – Uganda – Tanzania – Djibouti – Sudan – South Sudan – Ghana – Morocco – Algeria – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Jordan – the United States of America), with no costs being charged to the state budget in all of them. The Council supported the success of the Food Africa Exhibition during the previous years until it became the largest manufactured food exhibition in Africa with the participation of nearly 900 local and international companies in its last session in December 2024. The Council also worked during the previous years to bring in and organize importer delegations on the sidelines of the exhibition in accordance with the markets.
